Have a Famous Breakfast at Sea Gypsey while watching the sun rise or one of Kaai 4 famous dishes whilst watching the breathtaking sunset.  Other Restaurants and Activities you will also find at the harbout is Deep Sea Diving, Deep Sea Fishing, a Sushi Bar, Various boat cruises and much more. The sunset cruise especially a must do when in Mossel Bay.

Bartlomeu Dias Museum


In the Year 1989 the Inauguration of the Bartoloeu Dias Boat took place. The Dias Museum Complex is home to mountain tortoises, ducks, museum cats, and a shop that sells postcards, stamps, books, souvenirs.

The museum is very interesting with impressive exhibits and is a highly recommended visit when in Mossel Bay.

The Dias Complex is Also Home to the very first post office established in South Africa and to this date, the tree remains as a tribute to the past. The Tree was established 1501. What is brilliant about this site is that many tourists come especially to visit this tree, which is, today, an important national monument.

Romanza Boat Trip

From June to October, Mossel Bay is home to the southern right whales on the south-eastern coast of South Africa. The Garden Route offers a choice of boat-based whale watching. A whale watching charter trip from Mossel Bay Harbour will almost guarantee you a sighting of whales, seals are a definite, and you also stand a good chance of seeing bottlenose dolphins as they swim up and down the back break on their daily surfing and fishing trips.

Jakkalsvlei

Cape St Blaize Lighthouse 

A beautiful tower that can only be accessed with steep stairs. Although the climb may get tiring, the views from the top are simply superb. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants near the lighthouse. In all a visit here makes for a charming experience and calls for a lot of photography. You are welcome to bring your own picnic basket and drinks to enjoy on the deck while enjoying a breathtaking view of Mossel Bay.

Oudshorn Cango Caves

 

Situated 114 km from Mossel Bay at the head of the picturesque Cango Valley, lie the spectacular underground wonder of the Klein Karoo - the Cango Caves. Situated in a limestone ridge parallel to the well known Swartberg Mountains, you will find the finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations.

 

Taking a tour through the Cango caves is a must and a once in a lifetime opportunity that just can't pass you by.

Cango Wildlife Ranch

 

This fantastic facility has been in existence for 30 years and currently comprises of over 90 different species of animals and 100 full-time staff.

 

They provide guided tours which are fundamental in our education programs, giving each species a voice and enlightening the public on animal and environmental issues. In order to bring these 'messages home' we have enveloped it in a fun and unique setting they are truly one of a kind.

The animals reside at the Cango Wildlife Ranch come from all over the world and are there for a variety of reasons. Some of the animals have been rescued from the wild or landed on their doorstep by default.  We get a huge amount of concerned citizens bringing us injured animals picked up next to the road. These little patients are usually nursed back to health and released back into the wild depending on the nature of their injuries.

Beaches in Mossel Bay

 

From Glentana to Mossel Bay and on towards Stilbaai, all within easy driving distance, you will never get tired of the warm water and 24km of pristine white sand awaiting to hug your bare feet. Don’t forget that Mossel Bay has the most sunshine along the coast!

Perfect for families to relax and picnic, for Dad to fish and for Mom to tan or just read a book. Most beaches have facilities, so take your refreshments, an umbrella and some chairs and you are set for the day.

Diaz Beach. 3 km of beach with swimming areas, 2 ablutions; social area; municipal caravan park.

De Bakke Beach. Municipal caravan park & chalets with ablution blocks; 50 m swim area; angling.

The Point. 3 km walkway on the rocks; with its restaurant and coffee shop where whale watching is always on the menu

Santos Beach, the only north-facing beach in South Africa. 1 km of swim area; restaurant; ablutions; angling, blue flag status.
